Bach Trumpet 1925 Model Advertisement
Before the introduction of the Bach Stradivarius model later in 1925, a Bach Trumpet 1925 model was advertised. While nothing indicates that it is different from the 1924 Model, it was interesting to read the description and advertisements from early 1925.
The January advertisement in International Musician was also used in the February issue. The March issue stretched the advertising to gain a potential trumpet customer’s attention. Here are these early examples of Bach Trumpets.
BACH TRUMPET
(1925 MODEL)
” THE most magnificent trumpet in the world. No ordinary standards can be applied to this marvelous product. It is a veritable triumph of the manufacturers’ art and inevitably creating a sensation among the world’s foremost trumpeters. From the minutia of mechanics to the deepest secrets of fundamental acoustical principles, every factor that could be utilized in the hunt for perfection has been put to use. The consummate result is the ideal instrument – the BACH TRUMPET.
Words are almost inadequate to reveal its amazing playing qualities. The BACH TRUMPET is in a class by itself and plays entirely different than any other horn. Results hitherto unknown have been obtained on this glorius instrument. Although beautiful in appearance, it is not designed to intrigue the eye of the purchaser, but for the purpose of making this instrument
THE BEST PLAYING
THE MOST SUBSTANTIAL
THE EVERLASTING TRUMPETEvery instrument is tested by Vincent Bach, formerly of the Boston Symphony Prchestra and solo trumpeter of the Russian Ballet of the Metropolitan Opera Company.
If there is the slightest defect, it is instantly condemned.
The slides are fitted absolutely air-tight and all parts subject to impair from perspiration of your hands are made of 18% nickel silver, which offers the most efficient resistance against acids of perspiration and saliva. It always pays to have the best. To buy a cheap brass instrument is the poorest kind of an investment. When a performer uses a cheap violin or a mediocre Piano only the audience suffers, but with an inferior brass instrument he endangers his embouchure overstrains his lungs and lip muscles, and absorbs his energy that he has no ambition to practice and may ruin his chances of becoming a fine player. Within a few years a cheap instrument will start to leak, lose its tone and tuning, blow hard, and cause notes to “crack” and “split,” and become useless as a musical instrument; furthermore, its trade-in value on another instrument will be very small, and considered from every angle the trumpeter is saving money when he buys thebest trumpet obtainable, regardless of price.
