New York Phil Bach Trumpets - 1958
This shipping list was found in the New York Phil Digital Archives from a 1958 tour of the orchestra. These archives include programs and other historical documents of the orchestra from its founding to the present. This is an excellent resource for fans of the New York Phil. It can be found here.
The “Date of Make” in this document appears to be related to when the trumpet player joined the NY Phil. The dates listed are not the manufacturing dates of the Bach trumpets.
Below are the Bach shop cards for the New York Phil trumpets used in their 1958 tour — special thanks to a Bach loyalist with copies of these trumpet shop cards.
The shop cards show some interesting details about their Bach Stradivarius trumpets, including Mr. Viacchiano playing a Medium (0.453″) bore C trumpet.
