A visual history of Vincent Bach mouthpieces.
In early examples of Vincent Bach’s mouthpieces, there can be significant variations in the outer shape & dimensions of New York-era mouthpieces. When Vincent moved to the Bronx location, the mouthpieces became more standardized in their appearance.
Below are the outer dimensions and visual style of Vincent Bach’s brass instrument mouthpieces. These images are from the Bach Embouchure and Mouthpiece Manual from 1954.
This example sold in the 2010s on eBay, included a trumpet mouthpiece and handwritten note by Vincent Bach. We are not sure of the reference to the street address of 241 vs. 204 East 85th street.
